Jason's version :)

Here are some random thoughts about the trip to Oregon. We had a blast!

Lunch with Grandma Jil. The boys had a great time with her and, as always, received all kinds of cool toys and gifts.

Sunset from Granny and Boppa's front porch. their 4 acre "farm" is sandwiched in between two very nice wine vineyards. One is called www.helmickhills.com and the other is http://www.ican but as soon as I do I will re-post.

We had a photo session with Tim and Kristi's daughter and grandma in Portland. Of course, I was NOT the photographer.

Wendy and I got to go on a couple of dates while there. This is a picture of the most delicious healthy plate of food I have ever eatin in my life! It is from a place called the Tao of Tea on Belmont in Portland. The webste is located at: Tao of Tea.

One of the things that I miss about Portland is the incredible selection of unique and good food.

Hanging out in Portland

We spent a few days in Portland at Grandma Jil's. Didn't take very many pictures for some reason. But we did get a few of some great Sellwood sights. And, we spent a day with Angela and Cole and Carter Johnson playing in the Salmon Street fountain. They had a blast and I can tell they miss being close to each other.

BBQ at the Morris Farm, July 31

My mom and dad planned a bbq with the three families we grew up doing holidays and campouts with. We are still in close touch with the Angaran family but the Callahan family had not been a part of the gatherings for many years. All of the parents AND the kids came, and the kids' kids too! It was so fun.

Traveling, July 29th and 30th

We drove all day Friday and Saturday, spending the night in Ashland on Friday night. The boys did so great in the car, and hunted for bugs at every stop with their Bug Vacs.

It was a treat to discover that Jason had booked an incredible place to stay. The Green Springs Inn is located about 20 miles east of Ashland in the middle of nowhere, close to the Rogue River and in the woods. They have the most incredible food here, homemade pies and all, served by a biker dude with long hair and a kilt. He's a great chef and had impeccable service too. The boys enjoyed throwing rocks and they took a bath in the outdoor hot tub on our patio. Here they are throwing rocks, getting their aggressions out.
